A Perfect Cloudy Day for an Engagement Session at the San Antonio Botanical Garden

I first met Cassandra and Stephen at a wedding fair here in San Antonio, Texas. Honestly, I have mixed feelings about those events—between the noise, the crowd, and the quick pace, it’s not always easy to connect. But somehow, I always end up meeting some of the most incredible couples at them, and these two were no exception.

They were warm, easy to talk to, and we instantly clicked.

When it came time for their engagement session, they chose the San Antonio Botanical Garden—a favorite spot of mine for its textures, light, and vibrant backdrops. We seriously lucked out with the weather that day. It was overcast (a photographer’s dream), which gave us soft, even light and a gorgeous sky to work with. And best of all—it wasn’t blazing hot like it usually is in South Texas!

Cassandra and Stephen were so natural in front of the camera. No stiff poses, just real moments, laughter, and the kind of ease you can only get when you trust your photographer and enjoy each other’s company.
