Lisa & Bryan’s Beautiful Wedding at The Lost Mission

A few weeks ago, I had the joy of joining Lisa and Bryan, along with their closest friends and family, for their intimate wedding at The Lost Mission—a stunning venue nestled in the Texas Hill Country, just outside of San Antonio.

As a wedding photographer in San Antonio, I’ve photographed at The Lost Mission many times—sometimes even multiple times in the same year. And yet, every time I return, I see it differently. The light shifts, the seasons change, and every couple brings their own energy to the space. With each wedding, I discover new shapes, textures, shadows, and colors to play with.

This wedding, like every other, was one-of-a-kind. Lisa and Bryan’s love radiated throughout the day, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere from start to finish. But what made this day extra memorable? During the celebration, a surprise marriage proposal unfolded—right in the middle of the wedding! It was a beautiful reminder that love is always growing and expanding.

As a documentary-style photographer, my job is to blend in and capture moments as they happen—nothing posed, nothing forced. This wedding was full of the candid, emotional interactions I love to document: hugs, tears, laughter, and spontaneous celebration.

Why I Love Photographing at The Lost Mission

The Lost Mission is one of my favorite venues in Texas. With its Spanish-style architecture, soft neutral tones, and natural surroundings, it provides an ideal backdrop for capturing timeless, artistic images. Whether it’s the soft light hitting the stucco walls or the dramatic shadows cast during golden hour, there’s always something magical about shooting here.
