When it comes to engagement sessions, I love exploring locations that are as unique and expressive as the couples I photograph. For this one, we went a little off the San Antonio path and headed north to the iconic Graffiti Park in Austin, TX—a bold and artistic backdrop that perfectly matched this couple’s fun, creative energy.
Even though I’m based in San Antonio, I’m always excited to travel for a session, especially when it means capturing moments in a place full of personality and texture. Engagement sessions in San Antonio are often filled with history and southern charm, but this shoot in Austin brought a cool contrast—vibrant street art, pops of color, and an urban edge that made every frame dynamic.
We explored the ever-changing murals, chasing light and laughter between every color-drenched wall. One of my favorite things about documentary-style engagement photography is letting the couple be themselves—no stiff poses, no forced smiles. Just genuine connection, movement, and real emotion.
Despite being in a bustling area, it felt intimate—like the city paused just for them.
