Wotancraft Pilot 10L

After nearly two years. My go-to camera bag right now is the Pilot 10L from Wotancraft, which is a little worn but still works well. I have utilized it for the entirety of 2023 and 2024.

THE BUILD

The bag is constructed of heavy-duty Dualcoat Water Repellent 500D Nylon Canvas with a water-repellent finish. As someone who has experienced far too many downpours, I can also attest to the water repellent material.

The strap is quite comfortable and fantastic. Although it appears thin and little, it wears well all day.

As previously mentioned, I've been using this bag at every wedding for the past two years, and I'm really happy with it. I've reduced the amount of equipment I bring to weddings, and the Pilot 10L has been the ideal addition to my rather simple setup. Despite its diminutive size, it can still pack a TON of stuff.

Actually, the Pilot 10L was made to work with cameras that had smaller bodies, such as the Leica, and possibly even those that had mirrorless bodies. During 2023, it held two Nikon D750 cameras with lenses and two more lenses. I upgraded my gear back in 2024, and I've been utilizing four lenses (24mm, 35mm, 50mm, and 85mm) and two Nikno ZFs. Using my layering approach, everything fit in the bag.

In all honesty, I believe I own far more camera bags than my wife purses. Although I usually switch the bags occasionally, I used this one continuously for two years. I love this bag as a wedding photographer because of its minimalist appearance and low profile. Unlike other brands, it does not shout "camera bag."

If you're looking for a messenger bag and want to bring two bodies, this camera is ideal for wedding days. They do have a 7L bag, which is smaller and could be ideal for two bodies with lenses.

Overall, I believe the bag is a terrific value and a great option for traveling photographers and wedding photographer. It's not too big, making it perfect for hotter regions and cities. The only thing I would change is to add a rain cover. The camera protects against rain and dust, and I am really concerned when it rains. For my peace of mind, I would add a rain cover. As you can see, it is quite noticeable after more than 24 months of use, yet the material is extremely durable. Remember that the new appearance won't last forever. Personally, I love its dust, markings, and worn appearance.
