So much of engagement photography is about capturing the in between the way you look at each other when no one’s asking you to smile.

We wandered through San Antonio chasing good light, real laughs, and quiet moments. These images were shot using a mix of Nikon and Fuji cameras, and I used a PolarPro filter on one of them to soften the highlights and bring even more depth to the tones.

After 12+ years photographing weddings in San Antonio and beyond, I’ve learned one thing: trends will always come and go, but honest storytelling never fades.

I’ve witnessed so many styles rise and fall over the past decade — from ultra-muted tones to overly posed shots — and through it all, I chose to stay true to something deeper: documentary wedding photography.

When I say documentary, I mean capturing your day exactly as it unfolds — the real moments, the raw emotions, the true essence of your story.
Not staged.
Not forced.
Not whatever is trending on Instagram today.
